For the past year and a half I have been taking kickboxing classes at Sparring Center in Buenos Aires and I can’t recommend it highly enough. I have been on a steady path of taking private kickboxing / Muay Thai classes 3 times a week and have gotten to know the personal at Sparring Center well. It terms of location and what it offers, you will not find a better place in Buenos Aires to practice Martial Arts. Located in Palermo at Scalabrini Ortiz 1147., Sparring Center is a great location for those living in Palermo Soho/Hollywood, Palermo Alto, Barrio Norte, Villa Crespo and Almagro. Not only are the facilities top notch, but the quality of people is hard to beat. The atmosphere at Sparring Center is very encouraging and welcoming. If you have never practiced a martial art in your life, whether male or female, you will feel comfortable right away.
The following types of martial arts and combat sports training are offered: Kickboxing, MMA, Taekwondo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Boxing, and Muay Thai. These are offered in group classes or in private classes. On top of specific martial arts and combat sports classes, Sparring Center also offers one of the best CrossFit in Buenos Aires. Sparring Center is equipped with a boxing ring, a punch bag area, speed bags, High Intensity Training modules and Kettleballs.
I see Sparring Center as the perfect place for two types of people.
1. If you are an experienced MMA, Kickboxing, Taekwon-do, Jiu Jitsu, boxing, etc. fighter and you are passing though Buenos Aires for a few weeks or a month, Sparring Center is a perfect place to train. Sparring Center has welcomed many world class fighters from all over the world to train in their gym.
2. If you are a beginner and looking to learn a martial art or just want a fun way to stay in shape and exercise, Sparring Center is perfect for you. You can take it as seriously as you like.
All the trainers at Sparring Center speak enough English for those who don’t speak Spanish. But for those looking to learn Spanish, another benefit of taking classes in Buenos Aires at Sparring Center is the opportunity to practice your Spanish and learn new vocabulary words. After a couple classes of Muay Thai, you will surely know the Spanish words for elbows and knees!! (codos & rodillas).
You could opt to take private one-on-one classes or choose from the great selection of group classes all throughout the week. One benefit of taking private classes at Sparring Center is the price. The average cost of a private class in the United States for private one on one martial arts classes hovers around US$ 100 dollars an hour. In Buenos Aires you could get the same quality of one on one training but at a fraction of the price.
[box]I have set up a special contact form for you below to get into contact with Sparring Center and organize your training. By using this form the folks at Sparring Center will know you are coming from Gringo In Buenos Aires and will hook you up with some good prices on classes. Good luck![/box]Martial Arts in Buenos Aires
